It’s a far more restrictive rule than the 110,000 points you need to earn Companion Pass. The Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier credit card gives you 1,500 Tier Qualifying points for every $10,000 you spend, up to 15,000 tier qualifying points. If you were to earn the maximum of 15,000 TQPs, you’re still 20,000 TQP short to reach A-List.
Fortunately, signing up for a Southwest credit card can give you a major boost. The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card are all currently offering 40,000 points if new cardholders spend $1,000 in the first three months.

I just received an email offer of a 30% bonus on points earned from spending on a Southwest card, and the bonus counts towards Companion Pass. Registration is required. So unfortunately the answer is no — your A-List or A-List Preferred bonus points will not count toward the Companion Pass. As of now, the only points that do count are the base 6-12 points per dollar spent from flying, base points earned from Southwest partners like Rapid Rewards Dining and the Rapid Rewards Shopping portal, and points earned from the Southwest Rapid Rewards credit cards .
The credit card alone will not allow you A-List status because of the 15,000-point limit (it takes 35,000 Tier qualifying points for A-List). However, the Plus and Premier cards can be used to earn Companion Pass status (110,000 points) without any flight activity!
